The Giant Lanterns of China return to Edinburgh Zoo this winter.
Escape into a world of folktales and fantasy with over 450 beautifully crafted lanterns lighting a magical trail through the Zoo.
This unique and special event also includes handmade crafts from Chinese artisans in our festive marketplace and seasonal hot drinks and snacks to keep you warm.

In addition to your zoo day out, little ones will love to explore the great brick safari at Twycross Zoo.
Made from nearly 900,000 LEGO® bricks and taking over 7,500 hours to build, discover over 70 lifesized LEGO® brick animals throughout this interactive safari experience PLUS lots of surprises along the way, including a LEGO Brick Pit, Make & Take Activities and Selfie Spots!
The Great Brick Safari at Twycross Zoo is included with your zoo admission ticket.
Don’t let the cold weather keep you at home, there’s some fantastic family films out in UK cinemas this November.
For little ones, take them to experience ‘The Grinch’ on the big screen, in the new animated remake.
Escape to a world of fantasy in ‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’, with an all-star cast and a classic fairy tale story that will enchant the kids.
For older kids we know they’ll be waiting for the release of Fantastic Beasts 2, out in UK cinemas on 16th November. Eddie Redmayne is back as Newt Scamander in J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world, with lots more familiar faces too.

Visit ZSL London Zoo this Christmas season for a truly spectacular and sparkling day out.
Discover the historic site and iconic buildings as a one-mile illuminated pathway winds its way through the Zoo in a magical after-dark experience.
With the animals tucked up in bed, explore the trail where fairy tale meets fantasy and larger-than-life, illuminated wild animal sculptures rise high into the night sky.
Hogwarts in the Snow

The Harry Potter studio tours get a festive makeover once more this Winter, with Christmas trees and a seasonal feast in the Great Hall, decorations in Gryffindor common room and snow drifts in Diagon Alley.
The beautiful scale model of Hogwarts that was used for sweeping shots over the school will also be looking wintry, with snow and ice effects carefully applied by hand. Visitors will also be able to get up close with the different types of snow used during production.
Although a bit pricey, this is an unforgettable day out for Harry Potter fans.
A Horrible History of a Christmas at Warwick Castle

Pull on your wellies, button up your coats and wrap up with a scarf for a winter walk around Warwick Castle’s 64 acres of gardens. Families can explore the new Horrible Histories Christmas Trail, collecting stamps along the way to claim festive prizes – and don't miss the twice daily Birds of Prey shows where falcons and owls swoop low over the Castle ramparts.
Warm up indoors with some Stories with Santa (book in advance) especially for the younger guests where they get to help the Elves prepare for ‘the big day’. And join Princes Felice in the Princess Tower to help her solve Christmas riddles. Don't want the day to end? Then there's the chance to book a magical Santa Sleepover in a Woodland Lodge in Knight’s Village winter wonderland which includes a wake-up call by one of Santa’s elves and a gift for young guests.

The perfect day out for superhero-obsessed kids – step into the world of Marvel and train to become an agent of the S.T.A.T.I.O.N, discover the costumes and personnel files of Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Black Panther and many more of the kids’ favourites.
The experience lasts for 70 minutes and allows Marvel fans to interact with props and characters from their favourite superhero flicks.
