Frequently Asked Questions
Can I visit again? +
Yes! Standard admission includes a 12‑month Annual Pass, so you can come back anytime within a year.
Who is Eureka! best for? +
Eureka! is designed for children aged 0–11, with hands-on galleries and play-based learning aimed at younger families. It is built as a child-focused museum, so children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
When is Eureka! open? +
During term time, Eureka! is closed on Mondays, open 10am–4pm Tuesday to Friday, and 10am–5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. During school holidays, it is open every day until 5pm.
Is there parking at Eureka? +
Yes, there is pay-and-display parking on site. The car park is open daily except 24–26 December, and Blue Badge holders can park free of charge in designated spaces. Current prices are listed as £4 for up to 3 hours, £6 for up to 6 hours, and £8 for up to 12 hours.
Can we bring a packed lunch? +
Yes. Eureka! asks families not to eat packed lunches in the galleries, but you can use one of the dedicated lunch areas instead. On busy days, the museum actually recommends bringing a packed lunch, and hand stamps allow you to leave and return without queueing again.
Is there a café, and does it cater for dietary needs? +
Yes, Eureka! has an on-site café serving meals, snacks and drinks. It also says it offers vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options, subject to availability. Picnic tables are available outside in good weather, and the venue is breastfeeding friendly.
Can adults visit without children? +
Not during normal opening hours unless this has been agreed in advance with the visitor services team. Eureka! says this is part of its security and child protection approach, and adults visiting without children need to contact the museum beforehand.
