One of the most magical and fun family days out in Sussex, Drusillas Park near Alfriston – just off the A27 – and attracts over 350,000 visitors a year. It’s a small enough zoo and adventure theme park to ensure little feet won’t get tired, whether you’re on term days out or here for the weekend. And it packs a mighty punch with incredible animals and attractions.
One of the star attractions is the first ever European Hello Kitty Secret Garden, a mini world of spinning teacups, drivable cars and a pretty pink parlour offering hair braiding and face painting. Visit meerkats, Colubus monkeys and cheeky marmosets; feed the penguins before watching them swim underwater; and enjoy one-on-one close encounters with lemurs and sloths.
Drusillas is always revealing innovative one-of-a-kind rides, and new for 2019 is The Rainforest Carousel. Hop on everything from dolphins to jaguars as you circle up and down through an exotic jungle theme. With over 30 animals to pick, the kids will want to go round more than once.
There's not just amazing animal attractions at Drusillas - a peek at the Drusillas Park map shows you what else you can get up to. Wide open spaces call for family picnics and Get Wet’s splash zone is an aquatic world of swirling water sprays. If you want to make them shriek and giggle, the unmissable interactive Eden’s Eye Maze is an Indiana Jones-themed adventure through ancient temple ruins, talking parrots and wishing wells, in search of treasure. Cooler days are thoughtfully catered for with the Amazon themed soft age group sectioned play area.
Drusillas Park has fantastic animal themed cafes which also cater for vegetarians and the park is open every day from 10am – 6pm except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
