More About This Offer
In 2012 Phil Robson embarked upon the task of creating a junior academy at The Drift Golf Club and has since formed Surrey Junior Golf. Phil has worked at The Drift Golf Club since 2007 as a PGA Assistant Professional. The vision of setting up a junior academy with over 250 children enrolled has been a great success. To progress this further we are introducing golf into schools across Surrey and also aim to continue growth among the academy here at The Drift Golf Club.
What we do…
Surrey Junior Golf has been working hard to encourage girls and boys, to learn and play a great sport that anyone may take part in. Golf is a sport that teaches all involved great life skills, they may progress at their own speed and learn to work as a team.
A considerable amount of coaching is currently available at The Drift Golf Club through the academy, please continue to explore the site to find what you’re looking for.
Surrey Junior Golf offers Tri Golf to schools in Surrey. In our experience Tri Golf applies the fundamentals of the game. Using plastic clubs and sponge golf balls giving children a greater chance of striking the ball each time to develop confidence and hand eye co-ordination. This allows for an extremely safe playing environment both outdoors and indoors. Typically team games are played plus working with other children leading to improved social development.
How we work…
Surrey Junior Golf aim to work closely with the schools to be able to run the lessons both indoors and outdoors to suit different schools requirements. This also allows the classes to go ahead regardless of weather conditions.
The academy offers junior coaching for golfers of all abilities. A wide range of lessons are available from individual, all year round camps, as well as after school sessions. The dates of group lessons and prices are included on this website under ‘The Academy’ tab, please contact us for further information. The academy has produced extremely encouraging results. The children really apply themselves not only to the physical aspects of the game, but the rules, the etiquette and on-course management.
