Fossils Galore
If fossils are your thing, then Fossils Galore is for you. Set up by a fossil collector to showcase his collection, Fossils Galore has since turned into a fully functioning Museum, with events, talks, tours and exhibitions all year round.
Attractions
Fossils Galore has plenty on offer for children and adults alike. The museum is known mainly for its extensive collection of fossils and minerals, which come from sites across the United Kingdom and beyond. However, they also offer a number of regular activities and exhibitions designed to engage young children, and get them interested in fossils and archaeology, including fossil digging in a prehistoric sand pit, a dinosaur hunt, arts and crafts workshops, dinosaur colouring, geode breaking, and seasonal dinosaur egg hunts. These hands on activities are designed to keep children entertained, and stimulate interest in the artefacts exhibited at the museum. This educational approach has won the museum plaudits from across the country, and they now have Nigel Marven, the creator of television shows Walking With Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Park, as their patron.
