The centre is home to dozens of creatures (around 150 in all) from turtles and seahorses to rays and sharks. It also holds feeding demonstrations, and has interactive rockpools where you can touch starfish and crabs.
A walkthrough tunnel gives visitors the chance to take a walk on the wild side, with the opportunity to see tropical reefs and sharks up close.
Other attractions include the opportunity to get a unique perspective on the ocean from a glass bottom boat, and take in the massive turtles, Jersey and Lulu, as well as tropical sharks, while colourful reef fish shoot past in shoals. You can upgrade your ticket for this attraction on site for a modest extra fee.
New for 2014 is the Rainforest Adventure, where you are welcomed by a Green Anaconda! Poison dart frogs, terrapins, awesome piranhas and water dragons are just some of the things you’ll come across as you step into this world.
The centre, which welcomes school groups and birthday parties, also plays a campaigning role in marine conservation and in working to ban whaling.
Getting to SEA LIFE Brighton is easy. All routes to the centre of town go to the seafront. Look out for brown tourist signs for the pier – the aquarium is just next door. Nearest parking is to be found along the seafront, while the closest NCP is below the Thistle Hotel, a brief stroll away.
If you’re coming by train, simply walk down Queens Road from the station towards the sea before bearing left to the pier. You could also get any bus into central Brighton and then make for the seafront in the same way.
