The National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham takes visitors into the amazing underwater world showcasing the best of everything from the coast of Britain, to the Antarctic and the Caribbean. Prepare for astonishingly close views of everything from humble starfish to graceful rays and tropical sharks in the UK’s only underwater 360° ocean tunnel. You have the chance to get hands on at our interactive rockpool and come face to face with our colony of cheeky Gentoo Penguins! Watch them swim, slide and socialise in their 70,000 litre home.
New for 2015, Immerse yourself in our dazzling collection of Sea Stars from around the world. Get up close and discover our Sea Star tunnel and peek-a-boo holes. Marvel at the variety of shapes, sizes and colours of the world's largest Sea Stars.
With over 60 displays and more than 2,000 sea creatures, the aquarium is the perfect stop for family fun!
There's no cafe on site, but being situated in the heart of Birmingham's city centre, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from nearby. If you'd like to nip out for lunch or to grab a quick cup of coffee, you can have your hand stamped by a member of staff at the Sea Life Centre entrance so that you can go back in afterwards.
The Sea Life Centre in Birmingham is situated in the corner of Brindleyplace by the Waters Edge, and is open from 10am to 5pm Monday - Friday, and 10am - 6pm at the weekends.
The easiest way to get to the centre is by train/bus. By train, it's just a fifteen minute walk from New Street Station (follow walking signs for the NIA), and to get there by bus use any service that takes you to the city centre and again follow the signs.
If you prefer to drive though, take the M6 junction 6 or M5 junction 3 and follow signs for the city centre. There are plenty of car parks to choose from around the centre.
