For days out to suit everyone, even the biggest kid in your family, you can’t beat East Links Family Park. Located in East Lothian, this has become south-east Scotland’s premier attraction.
Explore the park by train on a 1 km ride that takes you through the animal paddocks. As the animals inquisitively come up to meet you, give them some food from your animal cup. Get lost in the musical maze and try your hand at playing farmyard crazy golf as you navigate ploughs, windmills and milk churns. Be adventurous in the Fortress as you scramble up climbing nets, across aerial runways and over rope bridges. Challenge your family to a Fortress siege and battle against each other with the catapults. Splash around at Water Wars where you can target each other using the water cannons or see how many duck targets you can hit.
Get close to the park’s animals as you meet pygmy goats, wallabies, sheep, llamas, donkeys, chickens and many more animals. Don’t forget to take your cup of animal feed with you. No family days out are complete without cuddling cute little animals, so stop by the Small Animal Barn where the staff will show you how to handle chicks, degu, guinea pigs and rabbits.
Race to finish line in the Driving Zone at one of the go-kart tracks or take a trip around the park on a family go-kart. Very young drivers love making their own way around on mini John Deere tractors and bikes.
The normal park opening hours are from 10am to 5pm except for the July holidays, when it changes to 10am to 6pm, and in winter, when it changes to 10am until dusk. Plan your day by following the park map.
