The London Dungeon
The London Dungeon is a dramatic tourist attraction recreating macabre historical events and activities. Visitors see, hear, touch and smell the past as they walk through 1000 years of history while participating in rides and shows. It can be scary, atmospheric and also hilarious, as the London Dungeon focuses on black comedy.
Among the most stunning activities are the dramatic underground rides. These include a Henry VIII themed ride to the Tower where so many people (including two of his Queens) were beheaded. The final ride is Drop Dead: Drop Ride to Doom. There is a total of 18 interactive shows involving 20 actors. Visitors are guided along their journey by professional actors who tell stories and bring the past to life. Among the events covered within the London Dungeon are the Great Plague, a fearsome torture chamber, Jack the Ripper's Whitechapel and Sweeney Todd, the barber of Fleet Street who turned his guests into sausages. You can also find out what might have happened if Guy Fawkes really had blown up the Houses of Parliament.
The Blackpool Tower Dungeon
Discover the gory secrets of Lancashire's history at the Blackpool Tower Dungeon. The journey takes visitors through 1,000 years of history via displays, 10 live shows, rides, special effects and a maze. Comedy is also included, although there is also likely to be more screaming than laughter! Visitors walk through the various displays and shows, guided by actors taking the roles of characters from Lancashire's history. Among the topics to be discovered are the Pendle Witches, starring Alizon Devize and Captain Johnson of the Skippool smuggling gang, the torture chamber of Lancaster Castle and an attack carried out by King Ragnald's Vikings. Shows include the Plague, Labyrinth, The Descent, The Judge, Dark Chapel and Drop Dead:Drop ride.
Edinburgh
The Edinburgh Dungeon experience incorporates a number of rides and shows within the tour. The sets offer a 360 degree experience, allowing visitors to experience the storytelling using all of their senses. The shows feature live actors who recreate macabre scenes of crime and punishment in a realistic and entertaining manner, such as The Judge and Courtroom and The Torturer. Escape from cannibals in the Sawney Bean show and witness a gory autopsy at the Anatomy Theatre. In the Street of Sorrows, you can experience plague ridden 17th Century Edinburgh, learn the gruesome business of murder with Burke and Hare, and prepare for a hanging with Maggie Dickson. The attraction also features two rides, a boat ride through the Caves of Galloway and the Drop Dead: Drop Ride, an experience recreating the hangman’s noose.

York Castle
The York Dungeon is an interactive entertainment experience that combines thrills with chills. Offering a 70 minute journey through York’s history, the attraction uses live actors, special effects and storytelling to recreate gruesome scenes and notorious characters from York’s past, such as Dick Turpin and Guy Fawkes. The experience provides 12 live shows, each staged within a 360 degree set that allows the visitor to see, hear, touch and smell the experience. The Dungeon aims to thrill its visitors with realistic recreations of gruesome events, funny moments and scary surprises. Due to the dark and sinister nature of the tour, it is not suitable for young children or those with a sensitive nature.
Each live show reveals fascinating details about historical figures and gives a realistic experience of life from the past. You can experience life under the tyrannical reign of King Henry VIII in the Tyrannical Tudors, witness the effects of the plague in The Doctor’s Surgery, and learn about the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. Journey through the Catacombs of York Minster in the Lost Roman Legion Labyrinth and meet Eric Bloodaxe, the last Viking King of York. You can also experience torture first hand in The Torturer’s chair, face The Judge for trial, before being executed for your crimes by the Halifax Gibbet.
