Ormskirk Tennis Club is based in the heart of Ormskirk, a historic market town in the North West of England. Established in 1905, the club has a rich history and prides itself on providing a warm and welcome atmosphere to all.
The club boasts excellent facilities including five state-of-the-art artificial clay courts - two of which are floodlit - which were built in 2012. The clubhouse has also undergone refurbishment in recent years providing great facilities such as a communal area, bar, kitchen, toilets and changing facilities.
Tournaments and social events are a regular occurence throughout the year and are aimed at members of all ages - there's something for everyone! Regular social play is also encouraged, with weekly sessions taking place on Thursdays and Sundays for senior members, and Fridays and Saturdays for junior members. For those of you who fancy competitive tennis, the club has six teams in the Southport and District Tennis League, which runs from April - August each year.
Coaching is an area that is strongly encouraged at the club with a number of programmes aimed at our members. Mini-Tennis (for children between 3 and 10 years old) gives kids the chance to get involved, with smaller courts, nets and rackets together with lower bouncing balls. Junior nights and coaching sessions gives older children the chance to hone their skills further and senior members have access to coaching sessions as well as inidividual coaching if desired. More information can be found on the Club Coaching page.
In the winter, activities at the club don't stop with the annual winter league doubles competition that keeps members playing (in wind, rain, snow or shine!). A separate singles box league also runs for those wanting to build their singles game.
At the end of the year, the annual club presentation evening takes place and is the icing on the cake in a year already packed with social events.
